Ring-necked Parakeet (Psittacula krameri)
Size: 40cm

Weight: 130 - 140gms

Colour: Predominately green, the male has a darker ring around its neck. Many other colour mutations occur in captivity.

Lifespan: 25 to 30 Years

Sexing: Dimorphic, the male has a ring or collar around its neck. Although most colour mutations do not produce this ring.

Distribution: Sri Lanka & India

Habitat: Many differing woodland areas, also adapted to live in agricultural and urban areas

Threats:    Secure in wild & common in captivity
